LAKE CAROLINA  HOSTED THE 2000 PARADE OF HOMES OCT 14 THROUGH OCT 29

Builders, decorators and landscapers  worked diligently to complete the eight homes that were featured in the 2000 Parade of Homes. The Bluffs at Lake Carolina, a property of Lake Carolina Development, Inc., hosted the event beginning on October 14 and ending October 29. Situated on the south shore of Lake Carolina, The Bluffs is Lake Carolina's newest lake front community. The Bluffs is composed of 28 lake lots and 52 interior lots. The gently rolling and hilly landscape was a beautiful setting for this year's Parade.

The Home Builders Association of Greater Columbia (HBAGC) sponsors the Parade of Homes annually which features fully furnished and landscaped new homes built by Builder Members of the association. Builders this year are: Carolina Custom Homes, Inc., The Crosthwaite Company, Inc., D.R. Horton, Inc., Kay Evans Treasury of Homes, Inc., O'Farrell Builders, Palmetto Custom Construction Company, Squirewell Builders, Inc., and Zeigler's Home Builders.

Houses in the Parade of Homes are not only built by some of Columbia's best builders, they are filled with the latest appliances and features, decorated by professional interior designers, and landscaped to near perfection. One area that changes from year to year at the Parade of Homes is the price range of featured homes. This year these executive-level homes ranged from the mid-400's up to $800,000. Five of the eight homes were on the lake and three were just off of the lake. With fully decorated homes of this size in the beautiful setting of The Bluffs at Lake Carolina, the 2000 Parade of Homes was not to be missed.

Lake Carolina is located in Northeast Columbia. The development has ten communities underway. All of the communities are tied together with fully landscaped streets and paths and meet at one of the focal points of the community, the Lake Carolina fountain. Another focal point of the community will be easily seen at the 2000 Parade of Homes and that is the lake itself. Lake Carolina is a 200-acre man-made lake with six glorious miles of coastline.
